We see how important it is for us all to inquire of the Lord, especially for leaders. In Chapter 19 the Lord told Moses:5 "Now if you obey me fully and keep my covenant, then out of all nations you will be my treasured possession. Although the whole earth is mine, 6 you will be for me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.' These are the words you are to speak to the Israelites."
God gave Moses great promise while inquiring His direction. (NIV)
In Chapter 20 God gives the 10 commandments. The people greatly feared the Lord and was afraid to hear his voice. 20 Moses said to the people, "Do not be afraid. God has come to test you, so that the fear of God will be with you to keep you from sinning." (NIV)
In 21 we see the penalty for various sins. God's mercy keeps us from what we deserve. Grace and forgiveness are God's gift to us. Lets confess to Him and not take his power and position as God for granted.
