We see Isaiah like Ezekiel being projected into the future. This chapter describes in the personality, traits and assignment of Christ in detail. This was written over 681 years before Christ came and we can look back and see how it was accurate down to the last detail. 3 "He was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows, and familiar with suffering. Like one from whom men hide their faces he was despised, and we esteemed him not... 11 After the suffering of his soul, he will see the light of life and be satisfied..." After all Jesus went through He is satisfied with the life He brought us. He knew the consequences for any disobedience or failure to accomplish the task was eternal for us.
In chapter 54 We see God's compassion as He sees their suffering in exile and makes a covenant of peace with them to never be removed. 13 "All your sons will be taught by the LORD, and great will be your children's peace. 14 In righteousness you will be established...17 no weapon forged against you will prevail, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD and this is their vindication from me," declares the LORD. The covenants contain promises that are always fulfilled.
In chapter 55 we see the Lord compelling us to eat and drink from His pure food that gives life to our soul: 2" Why spend money on what is not bread, and your labor on what does not satisfy? Listen, listen to me, and eat what is good, and your soul will delight in the richest of fare." There is a time to seek Him and we are told to do that while He is near and may be found. He promises to have mercy on us and freely pardon us. We are told we will go out in joy and be led forward in peace.
We are promised natural signs of God's incredible provision as we understand His everlasting covenant.
In mark 13 we see Jesus telling the disciples what will take place. First the temple will be destroyed, then many deceivers claiming "I am He." Nation will rise against nation. There will be wars also rumors of wars, earthquakes and famines these are the beginning of birth pains. Persecution will continue and the Holy Spirit will carry us through with words to speak and perseverance. We are to understand the times and be listening to the spirit of the lord to know when to stay and speak in truth and love and when to flee. We are to know God's word and His heart so we can interpret the times in which we live.
