Judges 6 & 7

In chapter 6 we see the Israelites doing evil in the eyes of the Lord and Him handing the them into the hand of the Midianites for 7 years. When they cried out the Lord heard their cry and chose Gideon for their deliverance. He was not the strongest or the best warrior in his family. That's the way the Lord works. He chooses who will depend on Him for the victory. We many times like Gideon will ask for conformation because we cannot believe God would choose to use us in this way.
In chapter 7 we see the Lord reducing the size of the army from 32000 men to 300. He did this so that Israel would see that the victory belongs to the Lord.
